“Sometimes therapists, good friends or spiritual leaders suggest singles learn to be content alone before pursuing marriage. I’ve found that such a goal complicates a person’s joy and freedom to pursue relationships the way they would any other goal. And it can tempt a Christian to play a game of manipulation with God.
